Weighted Assessments
Updated over a month ago

Fountain’s Assessment stage type now offers the ability to include scoring weights for each question. Weighted assessments can help prioritize key skills and improve decision-making by your recruiters. Weighted assessments assign numerical values to Assessment stage question answers based on their importance. This allows you to give more prioritize applicants based on specific skills or qualities that are crucial for a role.

Beta Feature:

Weighted assessments are currently released in limited Beta. Please contact your CSM or [email protected] if you are interested in enabling this functionality on your account.

To create a weighted assessment, follow the steps below:

  1. Click the Create or manage assessment link or the Manage assessments button.

  2. In the pop-up, click Create New Assessment.

  3. On the Assessment Form Editor screen, type a name for your assessment. Make sure this is easy to remember in case you want to use this assessment in another Opening’s Assessment stage. You can also add an optional description.

  4. If you want the applicants’ answers to these questions to be secure, check the Secure Form box. Only users with the Secure Data permission will be able to review these answers. It is important to note that the assessment secure setting is not enabled on the question level but on the assessment as a whole. When enabled, it applies to all responses.

  5. In the dropdown box to the right of Secure Form, change Boolean to Weighted. To learn about Boolean assessments, review the Assessments Stage Help Center article.

  6. Click Add Question to begin adding questions to the assessment.

  7. Once the question is added, determine the answer type by clicking the Multiple Choice button. Answers for assessments can either be multiple choice or dropdown only.

  8. Type the answer choices and enter a score for each answer. You do not need to select a correct answer for weighted assessments.

  9. Enter a unique Data Key for the question. Remember, Data Keys must be all lowercase with no spaces (use underscores for spaces).

  10. When all questions have been added, click Save in the top right corner of the Assessment Form Editor screen.

  11. The newly created assessment will be assigned to your stage.

An applicant's weighted assessment score can be reviewed by clicking on the completed Weighted Test Status Label and then clicking Review Responses in the dropdown.
