It is critically important that when creating Rule stages, Fountain users evaluate all possible scenarios for applicants completing and submitting their information to avoid the possibility of looping or broken rules.
Important Note:
Applicants stuck in a Rule loop will not be viewable from the Applicant Table but will appear in the Universal Applicant View.
If an applicant is stuck in a Rule stage and receives the following error, Fountain users can replace the section of the URL with the Rule Stage ID the applicant sees to find the exact stage that is causing the issue.
To Identify the Issue
To identify the issue, follow the steps below:
Copy the Rule Stage ID text displayed in the applicant’s error screen.
Replace the text in the Workflow Editor URL to identify the exact stage creating the error with the pasted text. For example: app.fountain.com/accountname/openings/position/workflow/PASTE_HERE
Examine the Rules created for this stage to identify the reason for the loop and modify to avoid the error going forward. Be sure to click Save before leaving the Workflow Editor.
If the applicant submitted all required information to move forward in the workflow, navigate to the Universal Applicant View and manually move them to the next stage.
If the applicant has not submitted all required information to move forward in the workflow, reach out to the applicant to have them submit their complete application.
Once the erroneous Rule has been eliminated, the applicant should once again appear in the Applicant Table.
