Pool Talent Page & Talent Profiles

Learn how to navigate the Pool Talent Page and review Talent Profiles

Updated today

The term “talent” in Pool refers to all your contact records, while individual talent records are called Talent Profiles. Talent Profiles are an aggregate of a person’s applicant records, worker records, and/or prospect records; those that are found with matching email addresses. In this article, we’ll discuss how to manage and review your talent in Pool.

Talent Page Navigation

To access the Talent page, click Pool in the left side panel and then Talent.

There are three tiles at the top, which will show how many people in your talent pool are workers, applicants, or prospects. You can also filter your view by clicking the View audience button towards the top right and selecting a specific audience. The tiles will then show the workers, applicants, or prospects in that specific audience. Click Create audience to create a new audience. Learn more about audiences in this article.

Below the top tiles, you’ll find a table of the individuals in your talent pool, including their name, location, open and click rates for email campaigns, the last time they interacted with a campaign message, and the type of talent (applicant, worker, or prospect).

To find a specific individual, use the search at the top of the table.

To import talent manually as "prospects", click Import at the top of the Talent page. Learn more about manually adding prospects in this article.

Talent Profiles

To open a Talent Profile, click the individual’s name on the Talent page table. The Talent Profile will open to the right.

Summary

The summary section shows a summary of this talent individual’s information:

  • Position & Opening Matches: Based on the talent’s skills, availability, job Openings, and positions that are a match will be listed in this section with the match percentage. Highest percentage matches will be listed first. You’ll also see how many active Openings there are for that position, if any.

  • Imported Data: If a user has manually imported this individual as a prospect, that manual data will be listed here. Learn more about adding prospects in this article.

  • Contact: This section houses the individual’s contact information, including address, phone, and email.

  • Skills: This section will list all skills gleaned for the individual based on the information in their Talent Profile. Fountain’s AI cross-references this profile information with O*NET, or the Occupational Information Network, a comprehensive database that provides detailed information about the world of work. It's the U.S. Department of Labor's primary source of occupational information, offering insights into various jobs, including skills based on roles. Pool uses these relevant skills to match talent against your jobs, which also generates a set of required skills via O*NET comparison.

  • Employment History: Any previous employment records for this individual with your company will be listed in this section, including the start and end dates and the separation reason.

  • Application History: Any current active or past applications from Fountain Hire will be listed in this section.

  • Custom Attributes: If you uploaded prospect records with custom attribute data columns included, they will be visible in the Summary section.

  • Applicant Data Keys: Attributes collected from a person's application in Fountain Hire — such as custom data collection question answers, certifications, event attendance, and previous work experience — are also visible in this section. These attributes can be used as filter conditions when creating Pool audiences.

Click the audience name to be brought to that audience's information. Learn more about audiences in this article.

Campaigns

The Campaigns tab will list any campaigns that this individual is currently included in or was included in previously. You can search through the campaign list or sort by the last time the campaign was updated or the name. You can also filter by active or completed campaigns. Learn more about audiences in this article. Click on the campaign name to be brought to that specific campaign on the Campaign page. Learn more about campaigns in this article.

Data Sources

Data sources will show all of the pieces that are being pulled in to create this Talent Profile. This includes any Fountain Hire Applicant Profiles, any manually added prospect information, and/or any Fountain Worker Profiles. Remember, the Talent Profile is an aggregate of all of this data. Click on the links to be brought to those specific data sources, such as the Hire Applicant Profile.

Attributes

The Attributes tab displays all custom attributes associated with this talent contact in a single consolidated view. This includes attributes from worker records, prospect imports, and Fountain Hire applicant records.

Each attribute entry shows:

  • The attribute name

  • The current value (based on the most recently updated record)

  • A source tag indicating whether the value originated from a worker, prospect, or applicant record

When the same attribute appears in multiple data sources, Pool uses the most recently updated value as the current value for filtering and campaign personalization.

Applicant Data Keys

Applicant data keys are custom attributes collected during the Fountain Hire application process, such as answers to screening questions, self-reported certifications, or other applicant-provided data. When an applicant record is linked to a Talent Profile, these keys appear in the Attributes tab alongside worker and prospect attributes, giving you a more complete picture of each talent contact.

Applicant data keys are useful for:

  • Targeted audience building: Filter audiences based on applicant-provided information, such as specific certifications, qualifications, or screening question responses, to identify the most relevant talent for a role.

  • Personalized campaigns: Reference applicant data in campaign messaging to tailor outreach based on what you already know about a candidate's background or preferences.

  • Richer match scoring: Applicant Q&A responses are factored into Pool's match score algorithm, improving the accuracy of talent-to-job matching alongside job titles and descriptions.
