Cue, Fountain's AI assistant, can work with your Slack workspace. Once connected, you can ask Cue to search conversations, summarize threads, send messages, share files, and more, right from your Cue chat.
Everything Cue does in Slack happens through your own Slack account. Cue can only see what you can see, and it only acts when you ask it to.

Before you start
You need a Fountain account with Cue enabled.
You need a Slack account in your company's workspace.
If you don't see Skills & Connectors under Cue, connectors aren't enabled for your account yet, contact your Fountain administrator.
Some Slack workspaces require admin approval before members can add apps. If the connection fails with a message about approval, ask your Slack workspace admin to approve the Fountain Cue app.
Connect Slack
In Fountain, open Cue in the left navigation.
Select Skills & Connectors.
In the Connectors (MCP) section, find Slack and select Connect.
Slack opens a permission screen. Check that the workspace shown is the one you want to connect, then select Allow.
You're returned to Fountain, and the Slack card shows Connected.
Now open a Cue chat and try: "Search Slack for onboarding" or "Summarize today's messages in #general".
Disconnect Slack
In Fountain, open Cue → Skills & Connectors.
Open the Your connectors tab.
On the Slack card, select Disconnect.
Disconnecting removes Cue's access immediately and deletes the stored connection. You can reconnect at any time.
Frequently asked questions
Can Cue read channels I'm not in?
No. Cue uses your Slack permissions. It can never see a channel, DM, or file that you can't see yourself.
Does Cue send messages on its own?
No. Cue only sends a message when you ask it to, and messages are sent as you.
Do my teammates need to connect too?
Each person connects their own Slack account. Your connection is yours alone — it doesn't give anyone else access.
