On-Hold and Rejection Reasons

When you reject an applicant or put an applicant on-hold, you can append a reason to their profile; this allows for better tracking and analytics down the road.

Add a New Rejection Reason

  1. Click on your initials in the top right of any Fountain page and click on Company Settings.

  2. Click on Reasons in the left navigation bar.

  3. Click the Manage Rejection Reasons link.

  4. You'll see that there are a number of default reasons that exist in the Rejection Reason manager. Add your new reason and hit Save.

  5. Go to your Workflow Editor and click on the Rejected stage.

  6. Add a customized message for your reason and save it.

  7. Back in the Rejected stage, link your reason to the message you just saved.

Once you've added the message to your new Rejection Reason, you'll see it as an option when rejecting applicants from the Applicant Table or applicant profile:

And you're all set! Now, when you select your new reason when rejecting an applicant, the corresponding rejection message you set up in the Workflow Editor will be sent out to the applicant. You can set up as many Rejection Reasons as you would like!

Add a New On Hold Reason

  1. Click on your initials in the top right of any Fountain page and click on Company Settings.

  2. Click on Reasons in the left navigation bar.

  3. Click the Manage On Hold Reasons link.

  4. Add a new reason and hit Save.

  5. Go to your Workflow Editor and click on the 'On Hold' stage.

  6. Add a customized message for your reason and save it.

  7. Back in the On Hold stage, link your reason to the message you just saved.

Now, when you move an applicant to the On Hold stage, you can select an On Hold Reason and the corresponding message will send out to them. You can set up as many On Hold Reasons as you would like!

Add Rejection Reasons to Customizable Columns

  1. Navigate to the Rejected stage in your workflow, and select it.

  2. Select the black customize column icon located above the applicant table.

  3. Type "rejection reason" in the available columns search bar in the Customize Columns window, and select it.

  4. Choose the corresponding rejection reasons, and select Apply.
