Hire Go - Launching Openings

Updated today

Hire Go makes it easy to launch new Openings within seconds. You'll chat with the Hire Go AI Assistant, who will help gather the Opening details and activate the Opening on job boards. Within seconds, you'll have applicants applying!

Launch a New Opening

To launch a brand new Opening, follow the steps below:

  1. Click the purple Start hiring button in the top right corner of the Hire Go homepage or the Openings screen.

  2. Answer the AI assistant prompts, including how many people you need to hire, the location, pay range, and whether the role will be part-time or full-time. You'll also select the host(s) for interviews.

    1. When answering the questions, remember you can be conversational. Don’t worry about misspellings, abbreviations, or making mistakes. You can always ask the assistant to make changes before submitting.

    2. If your company is using Shifts, you will be asked to select an optional shift.

Activating an Existing Opening

If an Administrator of your Fountain account has already created an Opening, you can activate it via the Openings screen. This is also how you would reactivate an Opening if you previously created it in Hire Go.

  1. Navigate to the Openings screen and click the white Start Hiring button to the right of the Opening you want to activate.

    1. If using on mobile, click the 3 dots button and then Start Hiring.

    2. If you have a long list of Openings, use the search at the top.

  2. Answer the AI assistant prompts, including how many people you need to hire, the pay range, and whether the role is part-time or full-time.

    1. When answering the questions, remember you can be conversational. Don’t worry about misspellings, abbreviations, or making mistakes. You can always ask the assistant to make changes before submitting.

  3. At the end of the questions, you will be asked to review the collected information before clicking Approve and Start Hiring. Once the request is submitted, the Opening will be activated, and applicants will begin applying for the Opening.

Updating Active Openings

To update the Hiring Target after initial activation, click the 3 dots button to the right of the Opening’s name on the Opening screen and then click Update hiring target. Here, you can adjust the target up or down. Then click Save changes.

If you accidentally activate an Opening or have a candidate currently onboarding, you can deactivate the Opening also via the 3 dots button. This will stop the flow of applicants. However, once deactivated, you cannot change the Hiring Target.

Opening Approval

If your company is using Fountain's Opening Approval functionality, you may not be able to activate Openings at the initial request. Instead, the Opening will go into a Pending Approval status, which is visible on the Openings page in Hire Go. When chatting with the AI assistant, you'll need to provide a reason why this Opening is needed, such as you are replacing someone who is leaving the company in the current position.

When the Opening is approved, you will receive an email, and the status will change to Active.

Openings that require approval before activation will have a flag icon in the far left column of the Openings screen. Additionally, you can filter on the Openings screen for Openings that are Pending Approval.

In mobile view, the Opening will have Requires approval verbiage next to the status bubble.

Openings Without a Host

During the process of launching an Opening, you will be asked to select a Host for interviews. If there are one or more active Openings without an interview host, you will see an alert under your Action Items on the Hire Go homepage. Click Select host to assign a host so that applicants do not get stuck in the interview stage. You will be brought to the Settings page for that Opening to select the host.

Best Practices

When launching new Openings, follow the best practices below!

  • When launching Openings, remember you can be conversational. Don’t worry about misspellings or using abbreviations. The AI assistant will be able to decipher the intent of the chat.

  • Made a mistake when chatting with the AI Hire assistant? Simply ask to go back and provide the correct information.

  • After launching an Opening, go to the Opening’s Settings tab to ensure you add interview instructions for your applicants, including the interview location, whether that is a physical address or a virtual interview link such as Zoom. Learn more in this article.
