By offering Chat Apply, you give applicants another way to easily apply to your job Openings via SMS or WhatsApp by chatting with your Candidate AI agent. Additionally, this is a great feature for recruiting efforts in populations where smartphones with access to data is limited.
Important Note:
You cannot use legacy FAI with CAI.
How it Works
Applicants will text a keyword to the previously configured phone number which allows them to apply to a specific job Opening. This text initiates the AI Chat apply feature where the AI agent will converse with the applicant to collect the necessary information needed to start their job application. Once all questions from the application form are answered, a link will be sent by the AI agent to the applicant where they can continue their application in the Applicant Portal.
If you are interested in using Chat Apply, your Fountain Customer Success contact will help you with the initial setup. The keyword will be part of that initial configuration and is determined by the Opening.
Important Notes:
The AI agent will ask the applicant questions but not help them answer the questions.
The agent cannot collect responses for questions that require the candidate to upload documents such as a resume, Fountain’s standard work availability question, date picker questions, and any questions that require a dropdown answer with more than 10 options.
Tips for Advertising
If your applicants use WhatsApp, WhatsApp allows you to create click-to-chat links with pre-filled messages. This can be used with Fountain’s CAI Chat Apply Feature by allowing you to create a link on your website that applicants can click and immediately begin chatting with the AI agent. Additionally, Fountain recommends that any advertisements such as posters, billboards, etc/ instructing candidates to “text this number”, should include the following:
