If your company uses Pool, Fountain Hire shows how much matching talent already sits in your talent pool for each Opening, and lets you open a person's Talent Profile from their Applicant Profile. This puts Pool's matching in front of recruiters who work in Hire, without opening Pool first.
Pool Access Is Required to See This
Users see the Available Talent column and the Pool Talent callout only when their role includes the Can access Pool permission. An admin can turn it on in User Roles & Permissions. See User Management: Roles and Permissions.
Read the Available Talent Column
On the Openings page, the Available Talent column shows how many talent contacts in Pool match each Opening. The column's popover reads "Matching talent from Pool for this opening, based on your settings."
The count comes from the filters configured in the Pool in Hire settings. See Configure How Talent Is Matched section below.
The people counted are talent in your Pool whom you could invite to apply, not applicants to the Opening. Depending on your Pool, they can include past applicants, past workers, and prospects you imported.
Create a Campaign from an Opening
In the Available Talent popover, under SEND CAMPAIGN, click Email or SMS. Pool creates a campaign with the Opening's matching talent as its pre-built audience and confirms with "Campaign created. Open it in Pool > Campaigns to edit and send."
Go to Pool > Campaigns to open the campaign, edit it, and send it. See Create & Manage Pool Campaigns.
In the campaign, write the message yourself or ask Cue to draft it for you, for example with an invitation to apply.
Open a Talent Profile from an Applicant Profile
An applicant's Applicant Profile in Hire links to their Talent Profile in Pool. In the Pool Talent callout on the Applicant Profile, click View profile to open the Pool Talent profile.
The Talent Profile brings together what Fountain knows about the person across their history with your company. It shows the following.
Their match scores.
Other Openings they match.
Aggregate information about them across their applications.
The Pool campaigns and audiences they are in.
How they can be contacted, by email and SMS.
Their AI-inferred competencies and the attributes collected across their records.
Configure How Talent Is Matched
The Available Talent count comes from the Pool in Hire settings in Pool. The page subtitle reads "Configure the filters used to match talent to openings in Fountain Hire. Changes may take up to 1 hour to take effect."
The page has these settings.
Job Match — choose Opening or Position.
Match Score Threshold — the minimum match score talent need to be counted.
Proximity — how far talent can live from the Opening. Click + Add proximity to set a distance.
Conditions — narrow the match by talent attributes. Click + Add condition to add a condition.
Changing These Settings Requires a Permission
You need the Can update pool settings permission to change the Pool in Hire settings.
To change the settings, follow the steps below.
Click Pool in the left side panel, then Settings.
Click Edit on the Pool in Hire tile.
Review the default conditions. By default, talent are matched when Proximity is less than 15 miles from the Opening and Positions applied to matches the Opening's position, so the count includes people who applied to any Opening for that position.
Set Job Match, Match Score Threshold, and Proximity as needed.
Click + Add condition to add a condition, or Add condition group to add a group of conditions.
Click Save.
Pool confirms with "Settings saved. Changes may take up to 1 hours to take effect." The Available Talent counts in Hire reflect your changes once they take effect.
For the rest of Pool's settings, see Pool Setup and Settings. For how the underlying score is built, see How Match Score Works.
